What is Chabad of Dumont?
We are a community of families and singles, children and adults, highly educated and those who have not yet experienced a Jewish holiday or celebration. If you are Jewish this community is for you.
We celebrate together Jewish holidays, community events, children's programs, Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons, Shabbat dinners and anything else Jewish related.
We have no membership fees. If you are Jewish, you're already part of our family.
There is no prior level of Jewish knowledge or personal level of religious observance needed to join. Here you will find a community that is both welcoming and warm. Here Jewish values are brought to life in a joyous, non-judgmental atmosphere. Come try it out.
Our community is guided by the teachings and inspirations of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Ml Schneerson. The Rebbe emphasis on the Mitzvah of loving your fellow as yourself, has made this the defining factor in our approach of unconditional acceptance of fellow Jewish people.
We treasure the infinite value of every person. Each individual is encouraged to appreciate the power of our heritage at their own comfortable pace.

Who are we?
Raised with a passion for Judaism, my wife and I together with our beautiful children, Esti, Moshele and Kaila, moved from Fair Lawn, NJ to Dumont, NJ to start Chabad of Dumont in 2023.
We are so glad we did.
We have discovered a community filled with the kindest, most welcoming people. Families have welcomed us into their home, their lives and even their pain and tragedies. Our family has grown from five to a few hundred. We hope you join our family as well.
I grew up in Montreal, Canada, the 6th of seven children. I studied in Rabbinical college in Canada, Australia and the United States, receiving Rabbinical ordination in Brooklyn in 2015. I had the privilege of running Holiday services in many diverse places, from Yom Kippur in a Florida correctional facility to Passover Seders in Croatia, Romania and Ukraine.
Leah grew up in Brooklyn, Denver and Rockland County. She studied in Brooklyn and Israel, where she received her Judaic studies degree. Leah has run Jewish camps in New York, New Jersey, Russia and Ukraine. Leah is a passionate teacher who has left a impact of hundreds of student in her more than a decade of teaching.
Nothing brings us more joy that meeting a new community member for the first time.
Our kids especially enjoy when community members join us for a Friday night Shabbat Dinner at our home.
